Whichever stance a person ultimately takes on traffic enforcement cameras is irrelevant when assessing the city Administration and Council’s handling of the issue.

The video below reflects commentary from March 2009 regarding a proposed $15,000 raise for the South Euclid Community Center Director. There was much controversy surrounding the outrageous pay increase in the midst of an economic meltdown. City officials ferociously defended their decision. Councilperson Ruth Gray was perhaps the strongest vocal proponent of the hefty pay raise. She defended the proposed increase by alleging gender based discrimination. It is interesting that Ruth Gray is the Director of Community Life for the City of Bedford Heights. In South Euclid, the Community Center Director is essentially the same position with a slightly different title, minus the responsibilities of a recreation center.
