This comment is regarding the July 22, 2010 Editorial. Something smells like a San Francisco pier when Chief Nietert explains that if he gives +12 mph over the posted limit as the selection criteria, the camera company will only send those photos of motorists going +12mph (or more) over the posted limit to the Police Department -- then the PD makes the final determination of which motorists actually get ticketed from the photos received. Do I for one minute believe if the Police Chief receives a pic of any city official's smiling mug, he won't just destroy the photo and maintain there never was such a photo? Answer: NO! If any Joe K Citizen's hard-working face shows up, will there be a ticket issued? You betcha! And can any citizens ever prove what's going on behind closed PD doors? Of course NOT! What a smelly way to run a railroad.
