Cedar Center Update - June 2010

Please click on images below to view full size.
City officials have insisted that the Cedar Center area is secure and poses no threat to public safety.  Here are a few examples of their version of tight security.  The unlocked gate is on Cedar Road. (June 17th) The contractors performing the draining were not using this gate for access.

It appears that someone has made an entry point off Fenwick Road.

The photo below was taken on June 17th.  An outside contractor was hired to drain the "ponds" at Cedar Center.  It is unknown why this water is being diverted into a storm drain.  Has there been any water quality testing at this site?

On June 18th contractors began draining the former site of Blonders. (below)  That water was diverted into an onsite manhole.

Stanhope Swimming Hole Now Open

Please click on image to view full size.

The photographs below were taken on June 9, 2010 at the former site of Blonder’s, near the intersection of Warrensville Center and Cedar Roads. The City of South Euclid purchased the Cedar Center property in 2007.

City officials have not been forthcoming with the financial circumstances surrounding this project, even though at least $20 million of public money has been wagered.
Please see the previous post A Call For Common Sense which includes photographs taken at the same location on October 9, 2009, and - Wide Open To Danger...Again, which features video and still photographs of the Blonder's location taken on May 19, 2009.

What’s The Arrangement?

Please click on images below to view full size.

The above photographs were taken in the parking lot at South Euclid city hall after noticing the larger of the two vehicles perpetually parked there for a few years.

A review of the business filings on the Ohio Secretary of State’s website revealed an interesting connection between the owner of the business and a current city prosecutor.

It is unknown if Holiday Italian Sausage provides any form of compensation to the city for storage.
