Tax Increase Bell Rings AGAIN

The South Euclid Lyndhurst School District is preparing to ask voters again to dig a little deeper into their seemingly bottomless pockets for more money. Details regarding the specific staffing and program cuts that will be necessary have not been released. Does this put the SEL School District’s potential involvement in a Recreation Center to rest once and for all? Please click on image to view full size.

Help my memory, didn't the SEL School Board say that if we didn't pass the last bond issue they would close two school; we pass the levy and they close three schools. I guess that's not lying.

Yep, they sure did a bait and switch on us. We're thinking about private/Catholic school for our daughter. I don't trust the SE-L school board as far as I could throw them.

If my memory serves me, the plan all along was to consolidate elementary schools. I for one am glad that the school board and administration are being fiscally responsible with tax dollars. If you want to lay the blame on someone for school tax levies look to the state. Ask you state representative what the per pupil amount of money local districts receive from the state is. What they will tell you is that the an average of amount of state funding is $5,400 per pupil - SEL like most other suburban districts receive less than $2,000 per pupil, but your state representative won't tell you that. How is this consitutional - oh wait it isn't!

The Catholic school that you have no say about the money. The one who's leader took millions.

Gee, I thought the lottery was going to fix it all. Another bait-n-switch! As for the local catholic shool, St. Gregory, at least the old time pastor there kept tuition low which was a HUGE stabalizing force for South Euclid.
