So, according to the Sun Messenger and looking around:
1. August has come and gone with no start to the Cedar Center demolition as promised by the city.
2. The city still has not acquired bids for the demolition, which leads me to believe they don't yet have a good cost estimate
3. The city still needs to lineup financing for the demolition, considering that it still has not come up with money for it, probably because they haven't put out bids for the work just yet
4. According to the Messenger, the city only gets reimbursed the $17 million for the acquisition of Cedar Center, not for the other fees and costs involved.
5. Coral Company has until January 30, 2009 to acquire the property, which means that the city must complete the demolition before then and finalize all other parts of the deal
6. Coral, "(a)t that time, it is expected that a construction plan, including firmer cost estimates, will be revealed."
How much you want to bet that plans change significantly between now and then?
