Mutual Loss Of Respect?

A resident who has previously expressed concern on MANY occasions regarding the lack of transparency of this City Council and Administration speaks his mind once again. This time he takes off the gloves and delivers a long overdue, well deserved and accurate assessment of the situation in South Euclid. There is no doubt that Ordinance: 11-10 was carefully crafted by city officials to circumvent the point-of-sale legislation which was denied by a vote of the people in 2008.

It is interesting to note that of all the people who have come forward to voice their opinions at the open portion of city council meetings, this may be the only time that SEO has ever witnessed such a bizarre response by city officials. It isn’t difficult to analyze the root of their “disappointment” with this individual. Both Mayor Georgine Welo and Council President David Miller express that this man could have called them to discuss his concerns. Why would they scorn this person for his honesty? Because he did so in the public eye. Period. The claim by Council President Miller that “innuendos” were made is not correct as the speaker was very direct and specific, and in the opinion of SEO – absolutely precise.
