VOTE NO - ISSUE 106

Below is a copy of the language for ISSUE 106 as approved by the Ohio Secretary of State which will appear on the ballot in South Euclid.
  • If you are opposed to "Point-of-Sale" inspections - VOTE NO ON ISSUE 106.

It is strange that during the current nationwide financial meltdown, the City of South Euclid is so eager to enact this legislation.

There is much conspicuous in its absence here. We're being dubbed by the brief wording that flies this issue under the radar. Those who FOUGHT to get this on the ballot should of had a say on the wording to be presented to voters. South Euclid Administration & Coucil are as phony as a 3 dollar bill and CORRUPT as well.
**FIGHT THE CORRUPTION - VOTE NO**

Speaking of corruption, did the city ever manage to *privately* raise all of the money for the new playground, or did the city have to float the project money to get things rolling?

Also, what is the interest and type of bond that the city floated for Cedar Center? Lots of municipalities are getting killed with the rates on these bonds right now, I wonder if we are as well?

Please DO NOT vote to pass this "Point of Sale" inspection. If this gets passed, we, ALL South Euclid residents will HAVE to pay for the HIGH COSTS of the repairs. Trust me, I have been through this before and they do NOT work with you on the repairs. Plus, they CAN FINE you if you do not fix them plus they CAN prevent you from actually selling your house. They do not have to pay for the repairs, WE DO! Who Has that money right now? No one. With GAS prices making everything so high...we CANNOT even provide food and get medicine be cause of everything going up. The city has a lot of nerve asking US to pass this, when times are so bad for everyone right now. How greedy for money can they get asking for any votes to pass anything right now that is going to caost US MORE MONEY than we even have. No wonder why houses are vaccant. Please DO NOT pass this ordinance for the point of sale inpsections.

POS is nonsense. It had a time and place and both are in the past. Enforce what tools are already in effect and available, not just drive-by inspections and have some serious follow-up. Doesn't it make more sense to have residents accountable for their property while they're here instead of on their way out?
