Prolonging The Agony

Please click on image below to view full size.

Although the Mayor and her Administration view their aggressive tactics to obtain any available sources of funding as commendable, “robbing Peter to pay Paul” will not benefit the citizens of South Euclid or the County.

Why would Cuyahoga County allocate money for a municipally funded, highly unnecessary retail and housing complex, during the worst economic times since The Great Depression? Particularly perplexing when there are dangerous issues requiring immediate attention such as the rebuilding of the I-90 Bridge and other huge county infrastructure needs.

As for South Euclid City officials, it would behoove them to expend such zeal and ambition to address the unacknowledged and unacceptable violent crime situation. Some equally noble efforts to obtain millions of dollars for the safety forces and local infrastructure improvements would be impressive.

How is it, county sources of funding are presumed available despite the Port Authority's new "development-finance policy" seeking to minimize their support of suburban retail projects?

I'm sure someday Cedar Center will be rebuilt.Maybe not in my lifetime. And I'm only 54 years old.
What a fiasco.
Am I delusional,or has every elected official from every level of government lost their collective minds?
You can blame greedy CEOs',unions, unscrupulous money lenders. But ultimately our elected representatives must take the brunt of the blame.Regulatory agencies, oversight committees, elected officials budgeting our tax dollars.None of them keeping their oaths to serve the public. No money for safety services, infrastructure, schools.Where have you squandered all the tax dollars we have given you?Federal, city, local, gas, cigarette, alchohol, property taxes. Please tell us where it has gone.Don't even try to blame it on the economy.Last time I looked I haven't seen any of my taxes get cut.At least a greedy CEO runs a company that employes people, and produces some widget that consumers buy.Our local government produces nothing, improves nothing, and obviously maintains nothing. They support only themselves and their corrupt cronies. It makes me feel like puking!
