Peter Rubin, President of the Coral Company presented circumstances of urgency requiring the immediate need for the waiver of legal protocol. The valid story concerning Cedar Center is currently held hostage by all but one lone official. Councilman Robert Hartigan expressed disappointment in the lack of communication of facts regarding the legislation on which an educated and informed vote could be determined. It seems Mr. Hartigan is the only public official interested in getting the facts and weighing the consequences of the ongoing considerable real estate projects, both commercial and residential.
It is in no way beneficial to the people of South Euclid that either local paper, the Sun Messenger or the Plain Dealer, refuse to hold the feet of the players involved in this debacle to the fire.
It appears that the situation at Cedar Center has become a full blown quagmire.
How did this turn into an emergency situation? There wasn’t sufficient time to plan ahead for this?
Ordinance: 47-09- "Authorizing the Mayor to enter into a revised development agreement with Coral SECC, LLC..." Why didn't the copies of legislation handouts given to the members of council and the public include "Exhibit A," which defines the details of the revised development agreement?
On previous occasions, various sources and officials have made documented commentary indicating that the hold-up on the commencement of construction was due to the in-progress environmental abatement. (please click on the links provided below to see the corresponding article)
