Heaven help us! The mayor of South Euclid sent a Legal Notice to the Sun Messenger containing the blatant error "...in an among equal to ten (10%) of the bid...", AND the Sun Messenger's editor/proofreader printed it as is. Total ignorance on the part of the aforementioned mayor as well as the Sun Messenger has come to be routine rather than the occasional exception. South Euclid Oversight has shown countless Sun Messenger clippings with other such glaring errors. One would think the Sun Messenger would want to take extra care to thoroughly proofread material from South Euclid officials. This is just another example of how very necessary South Euclid Oversight has been and continues to be. Wake up South Euclid residents. The city is being run by incompetent, disinterested schmucks! The word AMONG rather than AMOUNT and the omission of the word PERCENT, may seem like small potatoes, but one can pluck hundreds of such spuds from the pages of South Euclid Oversight. Any professional worth his/her salt is careful to pay close attention to detail, not just in official documents, but in all affairs related to business.

Why do politicians so often feel once they've glad-handed the public into electing them, they've received a free pass to throw caution to the wind? Because they CAN! Too many people vote for city officials and after leaving the polls, completely ignore the actions of their city's government. Fortunately, South Euclid residents can rely on a very competent watchdog called South Euclid Oversight.

All South Euclid residents who are readers of SEO should encourage all their friends and neighbors to become readers too. Quite a lot of information is included in this site that is not available to the average citizen anywhere else. Thanks to SEO, we can see many official city documents, we don't need to worry about missing a pertinent Sun Messenger article, and the people who run this site also provide election literature and information as well. If all cities, counties and states across the country had similar websites to rely on, perhaps one day governmental corruption would be a distant memory.

A couple points about the bid process:

1. Results of the bids should be opened by impartial witness and posted on-line immediately.
2. Name of impartial witness should be revealed ahead of time.
3. If best bid is selected over lowest bid then it should be accompanied by an explanation that proves no monkey business took place.

Superficial rehab will make things worse in the long run.
