The city is spending too much money. They think they have wone the lottery with their 33% increase in income taxes. Question: How much of an increase is going from 1.5% to 2% city income tax? It is a 33% increase in the rate and the revenue! But don't think for a minute that it is enough money for overly ambitious City politicians who take comfort in the knowledge that the many citizens who would prefer to spend their own money on their own very personal priorities, aren't even paying attention. Overpaying $1.6 million to an irresponsible landlord is a clear indication that the city has too much money and they aren't capable of managing it.

You are 100% on target and correct! I don't know who you are, but by God I sure wish that you would run for mayor or at least city council. These people are out of control and they bank on the fact that the average resident is too busy with their own personal lives to pay attention to what they are doing.

Sadly this is the case. People have little concern with their city for various reasons and thus city government can snick in all sorts of grand disasters. Well at least they are not trying to make up for their discretionary spending by setting up speed traps like Cleveland Hts. does.
