Local School Newspaper Article

April 2, 2007- A young author writes an article in a local school newspaper: "In our South Euclid community, a very interesting activity is taking place. You may have seen all of the construction on Anderson Road. The city has decided to cut down the trees and build houses or condos in its place. Some may say it's good for our city. Others, like (name omitted) a sixth grader in (name omitted) classroom, oppose the idea. Her way of showing her feelings to the city of South Euclid was to write a letter to the mayor. There is nothing anyone can change because all the trees have already been cut down, but she still felt the need to let her position be known. She obviously feels that this was the wrong thing to do. (She) was not the only one who participated in letting the city know her feelings. Other people that live in the community also participated but in other ways, such as a petition to try and and stop this."--It would be interesting to know if Mayor Welo ever responded to this letter.

10 to 1 odds the mayor never even READ it, that is assuming she CAN read.
