This article in the Sun Messenger says it all. It says this: the city does do periotic inspections every other year and by the time if we wanted to actually sell our home, it should ALREADY be up to code due to the inspections from what they inspect already for free. So in other words, this is just another way for the CITY OF SOUTH EUCLID to get more money in their pockets. Especially during this hardship of times when people are just bearly making ends meet. What has this world come to?!
What has happend is the people we have elected have forgotten what their real jobs and goals are.Why we elected them.We have elected these men and women to serve as our representatives.To work for us the citizens,to serve our best interests.To manage the city,the infrastructure,to maintain our community at the highest standard that our taxes can support.Yes,and to look for means of increasing the city's financial resources to improve our community even more.
But not by fleecing the very people that have elected them.
This "point of sale inspection" is nothing but a scam,and a simple minded one at that.It is nothing more than outright thievery.
These so called "inspections" are unnecessary because we already have periodic outside inspections.
Also,it has become common practice to hire an independent professional inspector to asses the condition of both the exterior and interior of a home before a buyer purchases the home.There are also many home buyer insurance policys that cover any repairs that may be needed.I had such a policy when we bought our house.I had our furnace replaced,bathroom fixtures,garage door opener other repairs covered.Is the city going to give us sellers or buyers the same gaurantees? the answer is "NO".
Our politicians are simply lazy. They don't want to work,or don't know how to increase the city's income.Just tax us more.Don't maintain the infrastructure,don't go out and actually try to attract business investments,new commercial establishments,help upgrade and make more attractive existing establishments,create an evironment that attracts commercial,and residential investments.It's much easier to play us for fools and tax the people that elected you.
I sure hope we are not as stupid as you seem to think we are.I hope this issue goes down in flames,and sends all the politicians a message.We will not stand by and allow you to steal from us.
Welo(mayor) & Gang (admin&council)are trying for the easy money grab just like many lazy and not to bright government officials whose main tool is to just keep throwing money at it. Hey gang, try working harder/smarter with less resources.....Oh yeah, welcome to my world. Our vote is the only defense left against what they can do "legally" to us.
